A reversed card does not automatically mean bad news. Orientation is one layer of emphasis. The position, surrounding cards, and question still determine how the symbolism functions.
Five useful reversal lenses
Try blocked, internalized, delayed, excessive, or redirected. Use the lens that creates the most coherent relationship with the rest of the spread.
Avoid moral sorting
Upright is not always good and reversed is not always bad. An upright Tower can name necessary truth; a reversed Sun can describe private joy, reduced visibility, or confidence needing repair.
Choose a rule before drawing
Decide whether reversals are enabled before the cards are drawn. Changing the rule after seeing a result makes the method easier to manipulate unconsciously.
Insight becomes useful when it changes a question, observation, boundary, conversation, or action you can test.
