Astrocartography basics: reading planetary angle lines

Learn what ASC, DSC, MC, and IC lines represent and how to use a map without treating it as a relocation guarantee.

Astrocartography maps where each planet was rising, setting, culminating, or anti-culminating at a chosen moment. It translates one chart into geographic lines; it does not rank every city with a single universal score.

Understand the four angles

MC lines emphasize public direction and visibility; IC lines emphasize roots and private life; ASC lines emphasize embodiment and beginnings; DSC lines emphasize encounters and partnership.

Read planet plus angle

A Venus MC line and Venus IC line share Venusian themes but place them in different domains. The full natal condition of the planet still matters.

Use local reality

Language, law, cost, safety, visas, climate, work, and relationships matter more than a line alone. Use the map to generate questions and compare lived options, not to outsource relocation decisions.

Use the instrument

Insight becomes useful when it changes a question, observation, boundary, conversation, or action you can test.
